July 23, 2026: FoodSavr 1.0.13 on Android and web 2.1.79 are live. This release is mostly about making the app easier to scan when you are halfway through unpacking groceries or trying to decide dinner - cleaner screens, sharper icons, smoother loading, with the same account on app.foodsavr.ca and Google Play.

I ship updates like this because the job is simple on paper and messy in real kitchens. You need to know what you bought, what is about to turn, and what you can cook without another trip to the store. Home, Grocery, Profile, and Insights all got visual polish: tighter spacing, clearer hierarchy, and icons that read faster at a glance. Loading states are smoother too, so moving between screens feels less like waiting and more like checking your kitchen.

None of this changes what FoodSavr does - it changes how quickly you can do it. The goal is a calmer surface you can open for thirty seconds between putting milk away and answering a text, and still leave knowing what needs attention this week.

FoodSavr Points on Insights

The FoodSavr Points card on Insights was redesigned so you can see progress at a glance. It answers a practical question - how am I doing this week? - without digging through menus or guessing from scattered numbers.

If you use Insights to stay ahead of expiry and spot patterns in what you buy versus what you use, the card should feel more like a quick status read than a report you have to decode.

Sous Chef feels more polished

Sous Chef chat and recipe cards got layout improvements when you are planning from inventory. Suggestions are easier to scan, ingredients stand out more clearly, and the path from "what can I cook?" to adding missing items to your grocery list is less cluttered.

If you have not tried Sous Chef lately, this is a good week to ask what dinner could be from what is already in the fridge - especially items nearing expiry.

Android on Google Play

The Android build is on the public Play listing. This update also brings the app in line with current Android standards: edge-to-edge layout on Android 15 and newer, support for modern device requirements (including tablets and foldables with better barcode rotation), and the platform targets Google Play expects through 2026.

You do not need to think about compliance or API levels day to day. It just means the app should behave well on the phones and tablets you already use, and future Play updates should arrive through the store as usual.
